Hodoku-an ancient Japanese canji going back to the times of  Samurai. It means Compassion. HDT uses humane,  scientifically endorsed and proven techniques and practices in training dogs and in assessing and rehabilitating behavioural problems. The techniques do not involve, force, pain, the use of training tools such as choke chains. It is about the owner learning what it is that the dog responds to best in training tools, and  reinforcement of good behaviour. Clients and dogs are trained together and the owner is helped to gain knowledge and understanding of how their dog thinks, learns and therefore helps them to develop an even more special bond.
I am a positive reward based trainer. I use motivational based techniques using food, toys, praise, or a combination of all three. Positive reinforcement methods are used in conjunction with the use of “markers” .This is where the dog learns the meaning of a behavioural cue. I do not use any chokechain, prong collar or any other type of aversive techniques. Nor do I condone them. There is no place for fear, pain or force in the methods used by Hodoku Dog Training and Behavioural Consultancy- HDTBC
